Fear & Anxiety
Are you plagued with fear? Fear of what? People have all kinds of fear. Fear can be and quite often is paralyzing to some. Most fears are unfounded or should I say they are something that happens in the mind that sort of takes control of a person. Some fears, I can understand, but who am I anyways. I am not judging people with fears, I get it trust me. Some fears I can understand more than others. Once I knew a cousin of mine who did not have any fears towards dogs, however, he was brutally attacked and bitten by a dog. Honestly after I had seen the aftermath of this attack it presented within me a tremendous fear of dogs, any and all dogs to which I did not know personally. Today as an adult I still have a healthy respect for all dogs. I am not paralyzed with fear when a dog comes around. I certainly watch them and I am aware of my surroundings when a strange dog is present. I have overcome that with my life, praise God! There seems a time in life must come where a person that does have fears should confront this fear head on and put some effort in combating this situation to be released from the fear itself. I know it is difficult but doing nothing and hiding doesn’t help, I know! The bible teaches in 2 Tim. 1:7, “For God hath not given us the Spirit of fear; But of power, and love, and of a sound mind.” As we are in Christ Jesus, He protects us, we have the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. We have a sound mind to rationalize our situations in the Lord as we are under His care and protection. We can and if we rely on Him, we can often overcome these fears in and through Him. Read Proverbs 29:25, Psalm 23:4 and Joshua 1:9.
Often times fear brings anxiety. This is worrying about some future event usually which does not ever happen. We worry about things in advance which is a grand waste of time and effort. We should be placing whatever it is in the hands of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Needless worry can affect one’s health drastically, loss of sleep, loss of appetite, and yes it can even ruin or interfere greatly with relationships. It can cause undo problems usually over nothing, sorry to say.. Some people worry over the possibility of getting a disease like cancer, why, chances are it will not happen and if it does, we need to learn to turn it and everything else over to the Lord. The bible says in 1 Peter 5:7: “Cast ALL your care upon Him, For he cares about you.” It doesn’t say just some of your cares but ALL of them, all fears included. The word also says in Hebrews 10:23, “Let hold fast the profession of faith without wavering.” We need to be rock solid in Jesus, trust Him for EVERYTHING, yes even for Him to deal with our fears. Let’s live believing what He tells us in His word and let our faith take charge under His supervision. Read Phil. 4::6-7, Please.
What I am saying today is, we have NOTHING to fear, NOTHING! We should put all our anxiety upon Jesus because He CARES for us. He will carry that load for you. Place ALL your trust in Him. Look to Him not your fears or anxieties, not now or ever, He is the one who knows our present situation and He will carry us through to and through all eternity. God bless you my friends..
In Christ,
